Good Candidates for Upper Lid Blepharoplasty
Good candidates should be in good overall health and should have realistic goals and expectations regarding the results of their procedure. In General, individuals who are unhappy with the droopy or aged appearance of their upper eyelids are good candidates for surgery. Patients may also be interested in lower lid blepharoplasty to eliminate puffy bags underneath the eyes and restore the appearance of the lower eyelids for more comprehensive rejuvenation. How Upper Lid Blepharoplasty Is Performed
The surgical technique is rather simple. The excess skin is carefully measured out and marked. A hidden incision in the natural eyelid crease is made to remove the marked excess skin. Fatty tissue may also be removed. Small sutures are used to close the incision.
Upper Lid Blepharoplasty Recovery
Some swelling, bruising, and discomfort is to be expected during the recovery period following your upper lid blepharoplasty. Applying ice packs to the area can help to reduce and manage swelling. These issues should begin to subside after a few days. Recovery is rather quick and 5-7 days off may be all that is needed. More strenuous activity will need to be avoided for a few weeks.
