Fat Cells Can Fill Hollow Areas of the Face for a More Youthful Appearance
Published on July 5, 2017 by FACEOLOGYMDAn attractive, well-contoured face has long been the desire for many people around the world. If you have a hollow face and would like to give it a more full and youthful look, facial autologous muscular injection (FAMI) is something you should consider.
Achieve a Fuller Look with FAMI
FAMI, also known as microlipoinjection is a non-surgical procedure where an autologous fat transfer is done in order to give the face more volume. The fat cells used during the procedure are harvested from the patients own body. The excess fat cells in your body are suctioned out, purified, and then injected into the areas of your face where you want a fuller look.
Facial fat grafting is often used in order to reverse the effects of aging. When fat is grafted into the face, a more youthful look is achieved. This procedure is often used as an alternative to face lift surgeries, because of its minimqlly-invasive nature. From reducing wrinkles to providing more volume to the face, there are multiple ways in which this surgery can help.
Any medical procedure is risky to a certain extent, but as a minimally-invasive procedure, FAMI has very few complications associated with it. After the procedure is completed, you may experience facial swelling, but this will reduce after some time. Before undergoing the treatment, you should be sure to disclose your medical history to your plastic surgeon, so as to avoid any complications.
Pan-Facial Augmentation
This procedure is not just for your cheeks. FAMI can be used to plump-up the lips, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and facial lines, contour the area around the jawline, work on the nose, and more. From lip augmentation to contouring the temples, multiple areas of your face can be targeted using this single procedure.
How Does Facial Fat Grafting Work?
As this is non-surgical, many doctors perform this procedure on an outpatient basis. The fat used during the procedure may be harvested from your thighs, buttocks, hips, jowls. and abdomen using liposuction. Next, a centrifuge is used to separate the fat cells from the fatty acids and other liquids. Undamaged fat cells are then collected for the treatment. Once this is done, your plastic surgeon will inject the cells into the identified areas of your face using a hypodermic needle.
Recovering from Microlipoinjection
After the procedure is completed, you may have minor facial swelling and bruising. This will reduce overtime. Recovering from the treatment may take between a few hours to a few days depending on the extent of the grafting done. During the recovery phase, you should follow any instructions given to you by your doctor.
If you have any pain in your face or are facing any other problems, be sure to talk to your plastic surgeon. Do not take any medications, unless they are prescribed by your physician.
