Fat grafting is a process growing in popularity in which unwanted fat is extracted from one area of the patient’s body and re-injected into the hollowed and wrinkled areas of the face. The harvested fat is usually suctioned out using traditional liposuction techniques.
Once injected into the face, the fat must be nourished by capillaries in the area. Naturally, some of the fat will be dissolved into the body, but the remaining can become a permanent fixture.
